people whom Allah has chosen, empowered, and sent off to spread his message and to advance his Kingdom on the earth. The twelve apostles of the Good News whom Sayyidna Isa chose are also known in Arabic as الحَواريِّونَ al-hawariyyun. Isa the Messiah referred to himself as sent from Allah (Luke 10:16; John 13:20; 14:24), and he is called the apostle of our faith (Hebrews 3:1).
